‘Creativity in Global Actions’
Global citizenship workshop delivered for AKÜ, Estonia for young Europeans
Show details
Designed and delivered a two-day global citizenship workshop for young people from the Baltic states and Austria. The workshop enabled young people to reflect on how they could use their experience of international volunteering to inform others of global issues. With the support of thinkingpeople, participants explored what makes an effective global education project and global educator, and developed their own global education project plan.
- “I'd like to express my gratitude for your input and admiration to your professional attitude at the seminar. Thanks for sharing and inspiring! We really were lucky to have you! Thousands thanks!”

Design and deliver on-going global citizenship workshops on a range of issues from global inequalities to unfair trade, for both volunteers and staff engaged in this programme. We have worked with GX for the last 4 years.
The training programme includes:
- Introductory Training course - to introduce volunteers to the programme and to key local and global issues.
- Mid-project Review/ Debriefs – to support volunteers to reflect on their own experiences of the programmes and to start working on any key issues their team needs to tackle within themselves or in their wider work.
- Returned Volunteer weekend - to inspire volunteers to actively use the experiences they had on the programme in their future lives, for the benefit of themselves and others.
Participants attending this training have come from the following countries: The Philippines, Nigeria, Ghana, Indonesia, UK, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India.
- “thinkingpeople have offered a great support to both our staff and young people. Staff now feel empowered and better able deliver re-active facilitation sessions dealing with challenging issues such as discrimination and volunteers have felt supported and encouraged to take ownership of how their team works and functions.”
Nina Hartley, Programme Officer for Global Xchange on behalf of British Council and VSO
